This Privacy Policy outlines how RCKeyBoard, developed by Omar Shawkey, handles your data. As an Android keyboard, we have access to what you type, which makes your trust our highest priority. We are committed to maintaining strict privacy standards through a Local-First architecture.

1Privacy by Design

RCKeyBoard is engineered to function entirely on your device. We do not collect, track, or sell your keystrokes, typing habits, or personal information. Your regular typing data is never transmitted to our servers or any third-party analytics services.

2Technical Feature Transparency

Intelligent Learning & Suggestions: Your personalized dictionary and next-word prediction data are stored securely in a local SQLite/Room database inside the app's sandboxed storage. No cloud synchronization or off-device learning is utilized.
Sensitive Input Protection: The keyboard automatically detects sensitive input fields (e.g., passwords, web passwords, and email addresses). When you type in these fields, all learning, data collection, and context prediction features are completely disabled to help protect user privacy.
Local Clipboard Management: The app caches copied text locally to provide a convenient clipboard history UI. To protect device storage, the local database is strictly capped at 100 items. Older unpinned items are automatically purged as new items are added. All data remains strictly on your device.
Theming & Custom Backgrounds: Custom background images are loaded directly via local Android URIs. No media is ever uploaded to the cloud.
Emojis: All high-quality emoji assets and search rules are bundled directly within the app. No internet connection is used to search for or display emojis.

3Permissions & Network Usage

We request the absolute minimum permissions required to provide a premium keyboard experience:

Vibrate (VIBRATE): Required to provide tactile haptic feedback when you press keys.
Internet Access (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): These permissions are used exclusively for the optional Inline Translation feature. When you open the translation bar and explicitly request a translation, the text entered into the translation bar may be securely transmitted to external translation services to provide the requested translation. Your regular typing outside of the translation bar is never transmitted.
Microphone (Voice Typing): RCKeyBoard does not request or possess the RECORD_AUDIO permission. When you tap the microphone icon, the app securely delegates the action to your device's built-in system speech-to-text engine (e.g., Google Voice Typing).

4Data Sharing

RCKeyBoard does not sell personal information or share typing data with advertisers, analytics providers, or other third parties. Any information processed through optional online features is used solely to provide the functionality explicitly requested by the user.

The Android Keyboard Warning

When enabling RCKeyBoard, Android displays a standard system warning stating that the keyboard may collect all text you type, including personal data. This is a mandatory warning shown for all third-party keyboards. RCKeyBoard is designed with a privacy-first approach and does not use keyboard access to collect, sell, or share typing data for advertising or profiling purposes.
